What If?

What if? The two most dangerous words in the English language.    We've all thought 'what if' before; what if I did this, what if I did that.  These words mean more to people than most imagine.  They are the past, the present, and the future.  Without these words, our imagination would have faded out many, many years ago.  Anyone who denies these words, are fooling themselves into thinking they are right where they want to be. The truth is, everyone wishes they could change something in their past...no one is exempt from this universal truth.  We even use these words to imagine the future, because if there's one thing that's more uncertain than the future, its the present.  We only ever utilize what's here and now, but hope that it leads to a better future.  But the fact is, the future is impossible to comprehend.  We base our lives on what we believe is right as of now, without ever having the sight to see beyond those decisions.  Our minds create an incredible outcome from every decision we make, but we all know that's hardly the case most times.  Don't get me wrong, sometimes good decisions lead to a good outcomes, but those people have never really received the message in my opinion.

There are so many potential outcomes to every decision, that all we ever do is make a decision based on the evidence in front of us at the time.  Thus, its hard to see the potential failures of the future, and we as a race, have many in our brief history on this Earth.  Nothing is left to chance...its how you play the game.  But how does one play said game if there isn't a perception beyond our decisions?  The hard truth is...Faith.  We have faith in our ability to control our own destinies.  But what's the difference between fate and destiny?  Fate is what we control; its our ability to choose what we want, when we want it, and how we want it; its the illusion of whats in front of us at the time.  Destiny, on the other hand, is out of our hands.  There are things that influence our decisions, our development, our choices, that we have absolutely NO control over.  This is what determines our outcomes; Fate vs. Desitiny...which do you believe in and why? I await your answers...til then...
